Comforting, educating, and empowering families of premature infants

Vision: To increase confidence of families with premature infants

About Preemie Project of Dothan:

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families with premature infants in the Wiregrass area. Mandy Booth founded this organization in 2016, and registered as a nonprofit in 2020. As the mother of a former premature infant, Mandy has dedicated her time to ensuring other families of premature infants have access to the necessary resources and information needed to feel confident in the care for their infants. Please contact us if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to speak to a member of our team to see how we can help.

Empowering Families

Preemie Project of Dothan is dedicated to empowering the families of premature infants during and after their stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is done by providing essential resources needed for the care of the premature infant. Ranging from physical care items to monetary support for travel expenses, Preemie Project of Dothan is there to support families of premature infants during their time of need.

Educating Families

Preemie Project of Dothan is dedicated to educating families of premature infants during and after their stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is done through various classes related to premature infants’ care and postpartum health care. These classes will allow families to feel more confident in learning more about premature infants, what to expect with various health conditions, information about postpartum health conditions, and additional resources beyond the scope of Preemie Project.

Comforting Families

Preemie Project of Dothan is dedicated to comforting families of premature infants during and after their stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Premature infants are not typically planned for, and Preemie Project vows to be there to support families in their time of need. This is done by providing support groups for families of premature infants. Support groups create a safe space for families to share their story and relate to others experiencing similar situations as them.

“After the birth of our son, we did not know where to turn. Our son was 28 weeks and 2lb. Mandy Booth helped us with gas, and when he could finally wear clothes, she helped us also. The biggest hit was needing a 4lb carseat. She helped with that also. We do not know what we would have done without her and all of her support.”
